India LNG Supply Stable, No LPG Shortage: Government

India LNG supply

India LNG supply remains stable, and the government has confirmed that there is currently no shortage of LPG or liquefied natural gas in the country. Officials said India has sufficient stocks of crude oil and natural gas, while fresh supplies are arriving regularly.

Government sources stated that India’s energy position remains comfortable. Authorities are also expanding talks with several countries and international organisations to maintain stable energy imports.

India LNG Supply: Natural Gas Imports Reach 195 MMSCMD

India currently imports about 195 million metric standard cubic metres per day (MMSCMD) of natural gas.

Out of this, nearly 60 MMSCMD comes from Qatar, making it one of India’s largest gas suppliers. However, officials said India is exploring alternative markets to strengthen India LNG supply and reduce dependence on a single supplier.

Australia and Canada Offer Gas to Strengthen India LNG Supply

Government sources said Australia and Canada have offered to supply natural gas to India. Authorities are evaluating these offers to improve the country’s long-term energy security.

India has also recently signed new energy agreements with the United Arab Emirates and the United States to diversify its gas imports.

India in Talks with Global Energy Organisations

India is also consulting major global energy bodies to monitor the international market.

Officials confirmed that discussions are underway with the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

Authorities said the government reviews the energy situation twice daily to stay prepared for any supply disruptions.

Shipping Insurance Talks with the United States

Officials also confirmed that India is discussing arrangements with the United States to secure insurance coverage for ships transporting crude oil and LPG.

This move aims to ensure smooth transportation of energy supplies amid global geopolitical uncertainties.

Government sources said the overall India LNG supply situation remains stable, while authorities continue to monitor developments closely.
